Application of Grey Programming in the Configuration of Commercial Gymnasium Equipment

This study investigates the configuration of commercial gymnasium exercise equipment, considering both the types and quantities of equipment. An inefficient configuration may lead to reduced customer satisfaction and resource wastage, which further impacts profitability. This study combines the grey 0-1 programming and the ordinary linear programming models to provide a method for the optimal equipment configuration in commercial gymnasiums. It enables gymnasium managers to make informed decisions regarding equipment types and quantities, contributing to the sustainable development of commercial gymnasiums while advancing the interdisciplinary application of grey programming. The methodology involves a five-step process: surveying and collecting data, developing a grey 0-1 programming model, identifying proportion relationships, establishing an ordinary linear programming model, and calculating results. Among these, identifying proportion relationships using grey 0-1 programming is the key step. The procedure is rationalized through four relevant perspectives: objectives, application concepts, procedural steps, and outcomes. The value of this approach is validated in terms of cost control and future development insights.
